Possibilities for joining the International Co-operation Platform on Prevention of Violence against Children discussed

Today, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Davit Harutyunyan received the representatives of World Vision Armenia and Save the Children organisations Zhirair Edilyan, Gayane Vardanyan and Grigori Grigoryants.

Minister Davit Harutyunyan attached importance to the mission undertaken by the organisations especially in the area of children's rights protection and to the programmes being implemented to this end.

Programme Director of World Vision Armenia Zhirayr Edilyan briefed on the International Co-operation Platform on Prevention of Violence against Children and on the opportunities for Armenia to join it.

Let us mention that during the last session of the Council of Justice of the Republic of Armenia the issue was discussed with the representatives of the member agencies and organisations of the Council, who gave their consent to join the process, as well as expressed their willingness to solve the procedural issues.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached to consolidate the efforts of the public sector and the civil society and to carry out activities aimed at joining the Platform.
