Report on activities carried out in probation sector

The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia presents the activities carried out in the probation sector in 2017-2018.

1.     The following have been adopted:

(1)    Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No 1019-N of 17 August 2017 "On establishing the procedure and time limits for involvement in public works";

(2)    Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No 1440-N of 9 November 2017 "On establishing the procedure for application and financing of electronic control means";

(3)    Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No 395-N of 5 April 2018 "On approving the Internal Rules of Procedure of the State Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and on repealing Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No 1561-N of 26 October 2006".

2.     For the purpose of raising the level of effectiveness of the activities of the State Probation Service:

(1)    a tool for risk assessment and needs assessment has been developed and applied; the tool allows to identify a beneficiary's risks and needs and make the process of resocialisation more targeted;

(2)    the plan for supervising probation beneficiaries has been developed;

(3)    the "Minor and Young Convicts Resocialisation Development" Programme has been launched, within the scope of which 100 convicts between the ages of 14 and 30 will be selected, and an attempt will be made to ensure resocialisation of the young convicts within the community through activities with them;

(4)    3 rooms designed for holding computer, felting and photography courses have been exploited for probation beneficiaries to gain professional skills;

 

(5)    a psychologist’s corner has been set up, and psychological activities are being carried out with probation beneficiaries in that corner;

(6)    the official website (probation.am) of the State Probation Service is in the development phase.
