Minister of Justice receives US Department of State Director of the Office of Caucasus Affairs and Regional Conflicts

Today, Deputy Minister of Justice Kristinne Grigoryan received the delegation headed by US Department of State Director of the Office of Caucasus Affairs and Regional Conflicts Cheryl Fernandes.

Welcoming the guests, Deputy Minister Grigoryan emphasised the high level of
co-operation between the two parties.

Cheryl Fernandes in her turn expressed her gratitude for the reception.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Grigoryan presented the chain of reforms being implemented by the Ministry of Justice. In particular, within the context of
anti-corruption strategy, the Deputy Minister presented the components of prevention of corruption, the fight against it and anti-corruption education. Touching upon the judicial and legal reforms, Kristinne Grigoryan presented the short-term,
medium-term and long-term goals of the Strategy and the Action Plan for meeting them. The Deputy Minister also presented the work to be implemented by the Ministry within the framework of the strategies of the human rights protection, as well as penitentiary and probation sectors currently under development.

Cheryl Fernandes evaluated the meeting with the Deputy Minister as productive and emphasised the partnership between the United States and the Republic of Armenia in regard to the matter of establishing institutions contributing to the fight against corruption in Armenia.

Finalising the meeting, the parties expressed high willingness to enhance the
co-operation.
