Taking into consideration public interest in pardon petitions, we would like to inform that the Ministry of Justice has, as and within the time limits prescribed by law, received from the Staff to the President of the Republic of Armenia the decrees on pardon petitions, which will be submitted to the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia for the purpose of informing convicts and ensuring execution of those pardon petitions.

Today, the Report on the activities of the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia for the year 2018 was presented with the participation of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Suren Krmoyan.

On 30 January, Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Krmoyan received Deputy Head of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Eddie Rich and Country Manager at the EITI International Secretariat Oliana Valigura. The timetable for introducing the register of real owners, acquisition of financial resources, priority actions, enforcement mechanisms — envisaged by the Fourth Action Plan of the Open Government Partnership initiative of the Government of the Republic of Armenia — and other issues were discussed during the meeting.

Today, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Suren Krmoyan received the delegation led by Executive Director of the Netherlands Helsinki Committee Pepijn Gerrits. A number of issues related to human rights protection, rule of law, the introduction of alternative punishments and particularly the capacity-building of the Probation Service were discussed during the working meeting.

Today, Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Krmoyan participated in a discussion on "Anti-Corruption Agenda for Armenia" with interested parties. The discussion was organised by Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center and held within the scope of the "Engaged Citizenry for Responsible Governance" programme, which is being carried out with the support of the United States Agency for International Development.
Re-socialisation of convicts to be target of the Ministry of Justice in the penitentiary sector in 2019
On 24 January, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Artak Zeynalyan paid a visit to the Penitentiary Service to sum up the activities carried out in the penitentiary sector in 2018. Statement (advice) of the Personal Data Protection Agency of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia on releasing personalised information on the amount of reward of an employee
The issue of the legitimacy of releasing or not releasing personalised information on the rewards granted to employees by state and local self-government bodies has recently become a matter of active discussions. Moreover, among other issues, this issue is also being considered from the perspective of protection of the personal data of employees.

Today, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Suren Krmoyan participated in the concluding event of the " "Abovyan" Penitentiary Institution: Establishing the Culture of Restoration, Effectiveness and Transparency" Programme. The event was jointly held by the Ministry of Justice, the Civil Society Institute and the U.S. Embassy in Armenia. Among those attending the meeting were Head of "Abovyan" Penitentiary Institution Gaiane Vardanyan, Deputy Director of the "Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programmes Implementation Centre" SNCO Gaiane Hovakimyan, Director of the Civil Society Institute Artak Kirakosyan and others.
ECHR grants claim to apply interim measure in case of S. Mayrapetyan
On 17 January 2019, the European Court of Human Rights decided to grant the motion of Samvel Mayrapetyan of 2 January 2019 to apply an interim measure, pursuant to Rule 39 of the Rules of the Court. By this decision, the Court requires that the Government of the Republic of Armenia immediately ensure the provision of medical care adequate to his current health condition and in accordance with doctors' instructions and, in case of need — also ensure the process of transluminal drainage.
Statement on the interpellations of Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Sofia Hovsepyan on the adoption process
In response to the questions and statements that Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Sofia Hovsepyan gave and made in regard to the adoption of foreign children during the session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on 17 January 2019, we would like to inform that, upon the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, in 2008, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia was recognised as the central body of the Republic of Armenia acting within the scope of the 1993 Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in respect of Intercountry Adoption.
