Institute of Dual Citizenship (non-official clarifications)(Armenian version only) The necessity of non-official clarifications with regard to the institute of dual citizenship arises from the unprecedented great practical interest towards that institute at present. Indeed, in this case we deal with a legal institute of a great current significance, and the level of awareness regarding the legislative provisions on this institute is obviously unsatisfactory. The purpose of the document presented below is to provide due assistance to the persons interested in the issue.
The problem of peculiarities of legal status of separate groups of people has always been one of the disputable issues. Moreover, divergences with regard to the above-mentioned issue become sharper, in particular when referring to the person's immunity in the sphere of criminal liability. In this case more crucial significance is given to the issue of substantiality of derogations from the principle of equality before the law, and to justify the necessity of the institute of immunity more substantial arguments are required.
