Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia receives Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Armenia

On 17 February, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Armenia Arja Makkonen. The Minister welcomed the Ambassador and attached importance to the co-operation existing between the two countries in the legal sector.

Arja Makkonen expressed gratitude for the reception and noted that there was great potential for the deepening of the partnership between Armenia and Finland.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon the new Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia. Arpine Hovhannisyan stressed that the amendments to the Electoral Code were made exclusively as a result of political consensus and noted the decision on publication of signed voters' lists and the innovation introduced in the electoral process as the best examples, i.e. the technical devices to be used for identification of a person.

According to Arpine Hovhannisyan, everyone's ultimate goal is to hold unprecedented high-quality elections.

Other issues of mutual interest were considered during the meeting as well.
