The presentation-press conference of the unified website www.reforms.am informing about the reforms being implemented in Armenia took place today with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of Justice Kristinne Grigoryan.

In her speech, Kristinne Grigoryan, thanking for the invitation, attached importance to such initiative, noting that the website is another tool of civic awareness and supervision in the hands of the Armenian society.

Touching upon the previous analyses of the Ministry of Justice with regard to public awareness, the Deputy Minister emphasised that in order to fill the awareness gap revealed as a result of the study, the communication component, with its external and internal communication components, was introduced in case of elaboration of more than 4 sectoral strategies during 2019-2020.

As another important tool of Civic supervision, Deputy Minister Grigoryan mentioned the ensuring of participation of representatives of civil society with the right to vote in compositions of the councils co-ordinating the sectoral strategies.

However, Kristinne Grigoryan added that she was far from thinking that we have achieved the solution to the civic awareness and supervision issues set before us and emphasised in this context that the introduction of such an electronic tool is an important support in achieving the Government's goal of participatory governance.

John Allelo, USAID/Armenia Mission Director, in his turn, attached importance to the availability of such a website for all citizens of Armenia in terms of open and transparent governance, within the framework of which the US Government supports its Armenian partners.

Daniel Ioannisyan, Programme Director of the "Union of Informed Citizens" NGO, in his turn, presented the goals of the creation of the website, the specialists involved therein, the targets set and the results expected.

After that, a question-and-answer took place between the speakers and the journalists.
