Deputy Minister Grigoryan participates in summing-up of the training course for the Patrol Service managing staff

Today, First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Kristinne Grigoryan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Armenia Lynne Tracy and Deputy Head of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Ara Fidanyan participated today in the last training course for the managing staff of the new Patrol Service.

The U.S. Ambassador congratulated the participants of the course on assuming leadership of the Service and highly appreciated the joint activities of the Ministry of Justice and the Police for turning the Service into reality. ''What should the patrol be like that should protect your children in the future? The beginning of creation of that image of the patrol you are going to put today'',- noted Ambassador Lynne Tracy and wished the employees of the new Patrol Service success on the way to carrying out the responsible mission.

Deputy Minister Kristinne Grigoryan greeted the attendees and expressed gratitude to Lynne Tracy and her team for their dedicated work, as well as to the participants of the course for their willingness to join the honourable and important initiative and to assume the responsible service.

According to Kristinne Grigoryan, creating the image of an integrity police officer serving the public in the effort to build a democratic state is one of the priorities of the Government. "Serve and protect. This is an important mission of a police officer in a democratic society. And I will not be mistaken to say that our society is waiting for the launch of the Patrol Service", noted the First Deputy Minister and expressed confidence that the new knowledge and skills acquired during the leadership courses will help the participants to better serve the state and the public.

Kristinne Grigoryan also expressed her gratitude to the Head of the Educational Complex of the Police Mushegh Babayan and the staff of the Educational Complex for the large-scale activities carried out.

Deputy Head of the Police Ara Fidanyan highly appreciated the co-operation with the U.S. Embassy especially for involving experts in and the technical support being provided for the activities of developing the Strategy of Police Reforms, as well as expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Justice for its contribution and the effective co-operation in establishing the new Patrol Service at this crucial stage. ''Improvement of working skills of the managing staff is of major significance for the operation of the new Patrol Service. I am confident that the new professional knowledge and skills acquired during a two-week course held in accordance with highly qualification standards will be effectively applied for the new service'',- said the Deputy Head of the Police, expressing confidence that after a short period of time everyone will witness the result for which so much time and energy has been spent.

We would like to remind that the Patrol Service will be operated in Yerevan from July.
