Arpine Hovhannisyan leaves for Venice on working visit

On 13 October, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan left for Venice to participate in the 108th Plenary Session of the European Commission for Democracy through Law.

 During the Session, Arpine Hovhannisyan delivered a speech in which she presented a number of major developments that have taken place after the amendments made to the Electoral Code. Arpine Hovhannisyan also touched upon the issue of the publication of electoral lists, attaching importance to the increase in public confidence in the electoral process.

During the Plenary Session, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia asked for the opinion of the Venice Commission about the draft Constitutional Laws of the Republic of Armenia “On Human Rights Defender” and “On political parties”.

The Minister expressed her gratitude to all the partners of the Venice Commission and to the OSCE/ODIHR experts for the willingness and the support that had been provided.
