Minister of Justice receives representatives of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation

   Today, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan received Head of the South Caucasus Department of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) Teresa Thalhammer and Head of the Armenian Office of this organisation Nelly Tumasyan.

   Arpine Hovhannisyan highly appreciated the co-operation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia with the IRZ and stressed the importance of support rendered by the Foundation in elaborating a number of legal acts and the implementation of projects aimed at exchange of experience.

   Teresa Thalhammer also expressed her satisfaction with the current level of co-operation and expressed willingness to ensure continuity of legal aid being rendered to the Ministry of Justice by the Foundation.

   During the meeting the parties touched upon the activities aimed at elaborating the draft of the new Penitentiary Code of the Republic of Armenia and introducing the probation service, as well as discussed a range of issues aimed at developing the juvenile justice sector and training of notaries.
