Data exchange between the system of the Civil Status Acts Registration and the National Statistical Service will henceforth be carried out exclusively in electronic form

04/03/2016

From 1 March 2016 data exchange between structural subdivisions of the Civil Status Acts Registration Agency of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, territorial bodies of the Civil Status Acts Registration Agency and the National Statistical Service will be carried out exclusively in electronic form.

The Civil Status Acts Registration Agency and territorial divisions of the Civil Status Acts Registration Agency each month submit to the National Statistical Service a report on registered births, deaths, marriages and divorces.

The report also contains one complete copy of the above-mentioned civil status acts. Henceforth, the information registered in the single electronic register of civil status acts will, under actual regime, be provided to the National Statistical Service to carry out the activities of statistical processing in electronic form and more efficiently.

The introduction of electronic system of data exchange between two institutions shall contribute to both reduction of time required for carrying out the activities of statistical processing of records in the field of civil status and preservation of quality properties of paper-based records kept in the Republican Archive for 100 years.

The process was implemented within the framework of Memorandum of Co-operation "On providing to the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia data from the single electronic management system of civil status acts registration and making available the integrated statistical data complying with the programme on state statistical activities to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia" signed by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia in 2015.

The development and operation of electronic system of data exchange between the Ministry of Justice and the National Statistical Service proved to be possible due to the assistance of the European Union.
