Minister of Justice receives Presidents of International Union of Notaries and UINL European Affairs Commission

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan today received Daniel Sédar Senghor, President of the International Union of Notaries (UINL), and Pierre Becqué, President of the UINL European Affairs Commission.

Arpine Hovhannisyan emphasised the importance of the visit of the guests to Armenia at the invitation of the Notarial Chamber of the Republic of Armenia, and stressed that there is a significant potential for developing the co-operation between the Notarial Chamber of the Republic of Armenia and the International Union of Notaries.

Daniel Sédar Senghor expressed gratitude to the Minister of Justice for the reception, highlighted the importance of the Ministry of Justice in the context of development of notarial system in the Republic of Armenia, as well as expressed readiness to deepen the co-operation.

During the meeting, both sides addressed international best practice in mechanisms for making the state liable for the damage caused by breach of official duties by a notary or pecuniary liability of a notary for deliberate breaches and other issues.

The Minister of Justice and the President of the International Union of Notaries also discussed the possibility of conducting next conference of the International Union of Notaries in Armenia.
