Minister of Justice receives Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia

On 30 August, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan received Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski. Arpine Hovhannisyan attached importance to the programmes that have been carried out within the scope of the co-operation between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and the European Union.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the process of the amendments to be made to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, as well as touched upon the judicial and legal reforms being implemented.

Piotr Switalski expressed gratitude for the reception and mentioned that the European Union is interested in supporting the programmes for judicial and legal reforms.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador also asked about the legal processes following the events that took place in July. Arpine Hovhannisyan assured that even though the raised issue is not within the scope of competence of the Ministry of Justice, nevertheless, reliable and impartial investigation will be carried out in relation to all the cases and a fair trial will be ensured.
