Arpine Hovhannisyan receives Baroness Elizabeth Smith

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan today received the delegation led by Director of John Smith Trust, Baroness Elizabeth Smith. The Minister welcomed the visit of Elizabeth Smith to Armenia, as well as attached importance to the co-operation between the Ministry of Justice and the British Embassy in Yerevan. A. Hovhannisyan highlighted the active efforts that Elizabeth Smith has made in various sectors and mentioned with satisfaction about the launch of the new programme that will provide young people with broad opportunities.

In her turn, Baroness Smith expressed hope that John Smith Trust would support the future generations of Armenia to receive high-quality education, since the generations attach importance to high level of education as the basis for state-building. John Smith Trust is certain that by providing young people with the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience in a new environment they will have the opportunity to use their abilities for the effective governance of their respective countries through targeted action plans.

According to the Director of John Smith Trust, they are willing to co-operate with the Ministry of Justice and within the future programmes to be implemented by the Ministry.
