Process of implementation of programmes being carried out in judicial reforms sector with support of the EU discussed

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan today received the delegation led by Head of Unit /Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Eastern Partnership/ of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement of the European Commission Vassilis Maragos.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the EU delegation, the Ambassador and his team with which the Ministry of Justice works closely to implement the joint programmes and fulfil commitments properly and achieve the highest result and presented the actions of the Government of the Republic of Armenia aimed at combating corruption and increasing public confidence in judicial institutions.
Vassilis Maragos attached importance to the process of implementation of reforms implemented in the justice sector and expressed willingness to continue co-operation in that sector.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the strategic plan for legal and judicial reforms under the stage of development with the support of the European Union and the list of actions deriving from those reforms for the years 2017-2020.
The Minister once again highlighted the importance of the support of the European Union in the judicial reforms sector and expressed willingness to deepen the partnership.
