Minister of Justice meets with Director for Human Rights of the Directorate for Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe

On 22 November, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan met with Director for Human Rights of the Directorate for Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe Christos Giakomopoulos.

Arpine Hovhannisyan highly appreciated the support of the Council of Europe to the reforms being implemented by the Republic of Armenia and stressed the fact that there is mutual confidence, as well as a high level of understanding of mutual interests and priorities. A. Hovhannisyan stated with satisfaction that the 2015-2018 Action Plan provides the opportunity to deepen and enhance co-operation in the relevant sectors.

In his turn, Director for Human Rights of the Directorate for Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe Christos Giakomopoulos attached importance to the high level of co-operation and the effective partnership of the previous years within the scope of implementation of different programmes.

The parties also touched upon other issues that are important for both parties and attached importance to the ensuring of continuity of the programmes.
