Deputy Minister of Justice Vigen Kocharyan participates in the 13th session of the CIS Council of Justice Ministers

Today, the 13th session of the Council of the Ministers of Justice of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held in Dushanbe and attended by Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Vigen Kocharyan.
During the session, issues regarding application of the latest technologies in the field of exchange and storage of information in the sphere of provision of legal assistance in CIS Member States, the legislative regulations in the sphere of implementation of public control over the activities of bodies and institutions imposing punishments and other criminal liability measures, as well as issues regarding implementation of the Action Plan of the Council of the Ministers of Justice of the CIS Member States in the course of 2014-2018 were discussed.
During the meeting, V. Kocharyan delivered a speech in which he presented the electronic tools that were introduced in the public administration sector in the Republic of Armenia through the application of innovative technologies and the experience in effective implementation of those tools. In his speech, the Deputy Minister also touched upon the activities of the Group of observers conducting public monitoring in penitentiary institutions.
Within the scope of the Council, the subsequent session of the Working Group for development of recommendations on improvement of mechanisms for implementation of the Minsk Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases of 22 January 1993 and the Chisinau Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases of 7 October 2002, was held under the chairmanship of V. Kocharyan; during the session, the Working Group held discussions on a number of draft international agreements regulating the sector and made decisions on revising a number of draft international agreements of the CIS.
