Deputy Minister Khachikyan participates in a discussion entitled "The main issues of protection of personal data"

Today, a seminar-discussion for students of the Law Faculty of Yerevan State University entitled "The main issues of protection of personal data" took place with the participation of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachikyan.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Minister Khachikyan expressed his gratitude to the students for such an initiative and emphasised that the Agency for Protection of Personal Data, being a relatively newly established body, has a multi-faceted impact by its activity. In raising the efficiency of protection of personal data, the Deputy Minister attached importance to the need for both practical and academic solutions and within this context, he highly appreciated the initiative of the students aimed at discussing the practical issues of the sector, urging to hold active discussions and raise all the sector-specific questions they are interested in.

Head of the Agency for Protection of Personal Data of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Hayrapetyan noted in his turn that the lack of awareness still continues to remain a problem in the protection of personal data, and within this framework he tried to check with direct questions the awareness of the students on what could be a personal data.

Then, a discussion between the students and the Head of the Agency followed.
