Deputy Minister of Justice participates in seminar entitled "The state of democracy 30 years after the collapse of the Iron Curtain"

From 6 to 8 May, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan participated in a seminar entitled "The state of democracy 30 years after the collapse of the Iron Curtain" in the city of Lund of the Kingdom of Sweden.
The seminar was organised by the Venice Commission, jointly with the Lund University. Chairperson of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Vladimir Vardanyan, member of the same Standing Committee Taron Simonyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Sargis Torosyan, Team-Leader of the "Legal Approximation towards European Standards in the South Caucasus" project of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Vardan Poghosyan, legal expert of the same project Nora Sargsyan, as well as current and former members of the Venice Commission, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, scholars, ambassadors and others participated in the discussion on challenges of democracy in Central and Eastern Europe.
During the seminar Vardan Poghosyan delivered a report on the topic "Transition from presidential to parliamentary system of governance: Perspectives and directions for development of Armenia in Eastern Europe".
