Anna Vardapetyan receives Political Affairs Officer of U.S. Embassy in Armenia

Today, Deputy Minister of Justice Anna Vardapetyan received the delegation headed by Political Affairs Officer of the U.S. Embassy in Armenia Sommer Bessy-Brayers.

During the meeting, a number of issues regarding transitional justice were discussed.

Deputy Minister Vardapetyan informed her colleagues that, within the framework of public hearings to be organised in parliament in the near future, as the main rapporteur, she will be presenting the international legal grounds for the institution of transitional justice. In response to a question from her American colleague, Anna Vardapetyan informed that issues related to the legal toolkit for applying the institution of vetting will also be included in the agenda for the parliamentary hearing.

A number of other legislative initiatives were also touched upon during the meeting.

Summing up the discussion, the parties reached an agreement on further deepening of co-operation.
