29/05/2019
Today, Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan received the delegation headed by
Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities Vuk Žugić.
Let us mention that, within the framework of the project jointly launched with the European institution, the OSCE will support the fight against corruption in Armenia, in particular, the process of creating a specialised anti-corruption law-enforcement body.
Minister Zeynalyan expressed gratitude to the OSCE representatives for their invaluable support and noted that Armenia is rushing to materialise the values of the revolution that took place in 2018 and make those values become irreversible. "We are going to create an institutional system for the fight against corruption, using the best practice accumulated in the world,” the Minister of Justice noted. Touching upon the process of creating a specialised anti-corruption law-enforcement body, the Minister of Justice attached special importance to the investigation of corruption cases within one unified body and the need to create a preventive anti-corruption body as soon as possible.
Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities Vuk Žugić expressed gratitude for the reception and reaffirmed the support of the OSCE to the fight against corruption. According to him, this is one of Armenia’s major projects that the OSCE Secretary General directly supports. Vuk Žugić also attached importance to the maintenance and strengthening of the relations between the OSCE and the Government of Armenia, as well as open dialogue in regard to needs.
Let us add that on 27-31 May, within the framework of the project, the OSCE Expert Group is also having meetings with other interested state bodies, with the aim of drawing up recommendations for predetermining the vision for the Anti-Corruption Body.
