Official investigation assigned by order of Minister of Justice

By the order of the Minister of Justice, alongside the criminal case instituted by the Investigative Committee, an official investigation has been assigned to establish the circumstances of the death of a detained person found hanged at "Armavir" Penitentiary Institution on 16 November.
Besides the official investigation, on the initiative of Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Rustam Badasyan, through the involvement of relevant specialists, a study on the cases of suicide that have taken place at penitentiary institutions in 2019 will be carried out in order to identify and prevent the causes of such incidents at penitentiary institutions.
