Minister of Justice receives Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia

Today, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Rustam Badasyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Jun Yamada.

The Minister welcomed the Ambassador to the Ministry of Justice and emphasised that there is a great potential for deepening the cooperation with Japan within the scope of the reforms being implemented in Armenia.

The Ambassador highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in the Republic of Armenia and, in this context, underscored the essential significance of the activities carried out by the Ministry of Justice.

Rustam Badasyan presented to the Ambassador the activities being carried out in the criminal justice sector and the anti-corruption field, as well as the opportunities for cooperation within the scope of reforms in the penitentiary system.

The opportunities for the participation of Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Rustam Badasyan in the 14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice — to be held in the city of Kyoto of Japan in 2020 — was also discussed during the meeting.

Ambassador of Japan Jun Yamada expressed willingness to deepen cooperation in the aforementioned sectors.
