19/12/2019
On December 18, during the panel discussion of the 8th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption being held in Abu Dhabi, Deputy Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan touched upon digital tools and innovative solutions, which are one of the most important locomotives for
anti-corruption reforms.
Talking about the activities being carried out in the anti-corruption sector in Armenia, Srbuhi Galyan presented the toolkit of the unified website for publication of legal acts’ drafts (www.e-draft.am), created for the purpose of ensuring transparency of the legislative process and active participation of civil society, and noted that there are currently more than 45,000 subscribed users, and there are more than 180,000 visitors every month.
The next Armenian example of an innovative solution in the fight against corruption concerns the unified electronic platform for whistle-blowing for corruption crimes (https://azdararir.am/am/) through which a whistle-blower may anonymously inform a state body about a corruption case. Since May 2019, more than 180 reports have been received through the platform, and criminal cases have already been instituted under 22% of the cases.
