Today, Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan received the delegation chaired by Anna-Carin Öst, representative of the Armenian Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

During the meeting, a wide scope of issues of mutual interest relating to the strategies on human rights protection, judicial and legal reforms and penitentiary and probation sectors, the action plans provided for by them, were discussed.

The focus of the issues having been discussed were on the protection of rights of refugees and asylum seekers and making of changes — for that purpose — in the effective legal acts.

The Minister and the representative of the Armenian Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees agreed to further develop the co-operation for the benefit of resolving a number of issues existing in the sphere and protecting the rights of refugees and asylum seekers.
