Consultation on judicial and legal reforms held under chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and with participation of heads of interested institutions

In the context of judicial and legal reforms, the design for construction of a new penitentiary institution was considered.
Minister of Justice Karen Andreasyan and Deputy Minister Arpine Sargsyan provided details about the proposed model and noted that it was developed based on the study of the international progressive practice and standards, proceeding from the priorities for human rights protection.
The proposed structural solutions, working conditions, building conditions and living conditions, as well as the financial assessment of the design were touched upon.
Ideas on the aforementioned and other related issues were exchanged, and the future actions were discussed.
The Prime Minister noted that the strategic prospective for reforms should be the structuring of a judicial and legal cluster in which interconnected infrastructures will be integrated. This will help to increase effectiveness of interoperability of the justice process and systems.
The head of government assigned to continue the works within the scope of this logic.
Also, Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Head of the Penitentiary Service Sergey Atomyan on receiving the rank of Major General of Justice, which was conferred upon Sergey Atomyan upon the decision of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia of 4 July 2022.
The Prime Minister personally handed over the decision on receiving the rank to the Head of the Penitentiary Institution and wished him productive work.
