Process of developing 2023-2026 Anti-Corruption Strategy initiated by Ministry of Justice is launched

A workshop devoted to the development of the 2023-2026 Anti-Corruption Strategy and the Action Plan arising from the Strategy took place at the initiative of the Ministry of Justice, and it also marked the launch of series of future working discussions and meetings for development of the Strategy.

In her opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Justice Yeranuhi Tumanyants expressed gratitude to Mission Director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Armenia John Allelo and the team for the ongoing and effective cooperation with the Ministry of Justice.

Deputy Minister Tumanyants emphasised the importance of participation of public administration bodies and other interested parties in the activities for development of the 2023-2026 Anti-Corruption Strategy and the Action Plan arising from the Strategy.

During the event, Mission Director of USAID Armenia John Allelo; Chairperson of the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption Haykuhi Harutyunyan; Deputy Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Committee Mushegh Babayan and Deputy Prosecutor General Srbuhi Galyan also delivered speeches, presenting the issues existing within their respective government agencies, the actions for the solutions to which will be defined under the 2023-2026 Anti-Corruption Strategy and the Action Plan arising from the Strategy.

The participants of the event were engaged in three working groups to discuss and identify the issues of the anti-corruption policy in three main directions, including the prevention and revelation of corruption, anti-corruption education and the challenges of public communication.

Representatives of public administration bodies, civil society organisations, higher education institutions, organisations carrying out international missions in Armenia, the business sector, as well as independent experts participated in the workshop.

The event was held at the initiative of the Ministry of Justice, within the scope of the Armenia Integrity Project funded by the US Agency for International Development and in co-operation with "Transparency International Anti-Corruption Centre" non-governmental organisation.
