Minister of Justice Karen Andreasyan discuses with the U.S. Ambassador Lynne Tracy the progress of reforms being jointly implemented

Minister of Justice Karen Andreasyan received U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy, USAID/Armenia Mission Director John G. Allelo, Director of U.S. Embassy Armenia Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Alexis Haftvani.

Minister Andreasyan presented the reforms currently being implemented in the police sector and the results thereof, particularly spoke about the course of the activities aimed at the formation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Armenia, the scope of the potential issues arising in the course of implementation of the reforms, as well as proposed steps aimed at the solution thereof.

Karen Andreasyan also touched upon the actions aimed at the implementation of the Public Administration Reform Strategy and the current course thereof, detailed important provisions defined by the Strategy, as well as informed that a donor co-ordination meeting dedicated to the implementation of the Public Administration Reform Strategy will be held soon.

During the meeting, the activities being implemented in the area of human rights protection, the results thereof, as well as further steps were discussed and attached particular importance by both sides; the imperative of continuous co-operation was reinstated.
