Joint session of the Council and Commission for Constitutional Reforms

Today, under the chairmanship of Acting Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan, the Council and Commission for Constitutional Reforms held a joint session, the agenda for which covered the following issues: “The President of the Republic of Armenia as the head of the Republic with parliamentary form of governance” and “Proposal to lift the requirement for holding only the citizenship of the Republic of Armenia and permanently residing in the Republic of Armenia for at least four or six years”. Member of the Commission for Constitutional Reforms Davit Hakobyan introduced a document on the powers of the institution of the President. Then, members of the Council and the Commission engaged in active discussion, made recommendations and expressed their opinions.
