Council of Europe reaffirms its unconditional support to the activities on targeted formulation and implementation of measures envisaged in the fight against corruption

Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan received the delegation led by Director of Programme Co-ordination of the Council of Europe Claus Neukirch.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the Armenia/Council of Europe Action Plan for 2019-2022 which defined the directions on protection of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

Ara Mkrtchyan attached importance to the expansion of collaboration in the fight against corruption.

Indicating the previous achievements in this respect, the CoE partners reaffirmed their unconditional support to making greater progress in the fight against corruption.

The parties attached importance to the further support by the CoE on developing the probation institute, particularly, in respect of legislation improvement and efficient application of new alternative measures of restraint and types of punishment.

The Council of Europe reaffirmed its readiness to support the conduct of monitoring of new criminal and criminal procedure codes, efficient application, capacity building of policy makers and other sector specialists.

The CoE expressed readiness to support the implementation of “e-justice”, “e-penitentiary” and “e-probation” integrated solutions.
