Yesterday certain media outlets and individuals misrepresented and distorted the speech that the Deputy Minister of Justice gave in the National Assembly with regard to the draft Law on annulling honorary titles. However, in her speech, Mrs Armenuhi Harutyunyan, mentioning the names of several esteemed cultural figures, said that even though these people are respected and loved, there are still many people who do not know who among these esteemed individuals hold the title of merited person. Let us emphasise the fact that the love of the people is immeasurable, and these merited persons are acknowledged by the public not for their titles, but for their contributions and the legacy they have left behind, and the respect lies in constantly providing coverage of their legacy and making it recognisable, instead of awarding titles.
