Ministry of Justice and World Bank to continue cooperation in the field of digitisation — Ara Mkrtchyan receives delegation led by Adrian Fozzard

Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan received the delegation of the World Bank led by Practice Manager for the Governance Global Practice in Europe and Central Asia Adrian Fozzard. During the meeting, the Deputy Minister presented the activities for digitisation of sector-specific services that are being carried out in co-operation with the World Bank and the results achieved, particularly the programmes for digitisation of the State Register, the notary, as well as the penitentiary and the criminal procedure. The Deputy Minister attached importance to implementation of these programmes, stressing their need from the perspective of both provision of high-quality public services and effective fulfilment of obligations and functions of the State. The vision for an electronic notary system was considered. The parties highly appreciated the effectiveness of electronic systems, taking into consideration the simplification of administration, reduction of financial costs and increased satisfaction of citizens as a result of the introduction of these systems. Ara Mkrtchyan attached importance to the assistance that the World Bank has provided within the scope of digital reforms in the justice sector, as well as expressed hope to continue and expand the co-operation. Adrian Fozzard expressed his satisfaction and stressed that he is impressed with the programmes being implemented, affirming the need for future co-operation.
