Narcotic drugs, wi-fi devices, phones — February report on prohibited items detected in penitentiary institutions

Officers of the territorial divisions of the Operational Department of the Central Body of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice and the Security Divisions of penitentiary institutions have detected and prevented attempts of circulation of prohibited items, narcotic drugs, as well as card games within penitentiary institutions. The Ministry of Justice presents the progress report on narcotic drugs and other prohibited items detected at penitentiary institutions of Armenia for the month of February. And so, throughout the previous month, the penitentiary officers detected a total of 19.8 grammes of masses resembling narcotic drugs, 115 mobile phones, 122 mobile phone accessories, 4 wi-fi devices, 9 cutting and piercing objects and other prohibited items from within ventilation pipes of penitentiary institutions; hollows in the walls of bathrooms; personal items, clothes, bedding and food of detained persons and convicts and other different hideouts. Relevant proceedings have been initiated in all these cases, and forensic-chemical expert examinations have been designated.
