Effective exercise of the rights of persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, partnership in the penitentiary sector — Karen Karapetyan receives delegation of the Red Cross in Armenia

Deputy Minister of Justice Karen Karapetyan received Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia Thierry Ribeaux and representatives of the Delegation. The Deputy Minister attached importance to the ICRC's activities aimed at addressing the humanitarian issues in Armenia and the region. Karen Karapetyan presented the activities that the Ministry of Justice is carrying out to ensure effective exercise of the rights of persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, the existing challenges, as well as touched upon the activities for implementation of the 2023-2025 Action Plan arising from the National Strategy for Human Rights Protection. Thierry Ribeaux expressed gratitude for the effective co-operation established with the Ministry of Justice. During the meeting, the parties also discussed the existing co-operation in the penitentiary sector, as well as the opportunities for expansion of the co-operation between the Ministry of Justice and the ICRC. An agreement was reached to continue the close co-operation. Advisor to the Minister of Justice Artyom Sujyan and Advisor of the Ministry of Justice Heghine Yengoyan were also attending the meeting.
