Deputy Minister presents the current and anticipated digital platforms in justice sector to USAID delegation

Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan received the delegation of the United States Agency for International Development. The Deputy Minister presented the existing and anticipated digital platforms in the justice sector, particularly those for trials that are of strategic significance for the Ministry.
The report prepared after studies on international practice in judicial statistics and in co-operation with the United States Agency for International Development was considered. Ara Mkrtchyan attached importance to the process of gathering quality judicial statistics which would be relevant to all types of court cases.
Vice President of Operations at Development Professionals Patrick Wujcik, who was leading the delegation, expressed gratitude for the meeting and voiced hope that the six-month project “Support to the justice reform in Armenia” will be successful and ongoing. Patrick Wujcik expressed willingness to assess the needs for digitisation of the justice sector and provide systemic support. In his remarks, the Vice President stressed that he is aware of the processes already carried out in this sector, in particular the Electronic System of Civil Proceedings and the positive results that have been achieved. An agreement was reached to clarify the scope of shared interests in the digitisation sector following further work-related discussions and to achieve the best outcome.
