GRECO's Compliance Report of Fifth Evaluation Round on Armenia approved

Within the scope of the 96th plenary meeting of the Council of Europe's Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), the Interim Compliance Report of Fifth Evaluation Round on Armenia was approved. This Evaluation Round concerns “Preventing corruption and promoting integrity in central governments (top executive functions) and law enforcement agencies". The development and approval of the Report was preceded by the visit of the GRECO evaluation group to Armenia, extensive studies and interviews with representatives of state bodies, stakeholders and civil society organisations in the course of 2023. The text of the Report will be published next week. Starting from 2025, GRECO will regularly review implementation of the Recommendations presented in this Report. The Ministry of Justice, as the authorised state body for development and implementation of the anti-corruption policy, will be consistent with continuation of the sector-specific reforms, pursuing to ensure full implementation of the GRECO Recommendations. At the plenary meeting, Armenia was represented by the Permanent Delegation of Armenia to GRECO led by Head of the Delegation, Deputy Minister of Justice Karen Karapetyan. Among the invited representatives were Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, Acting Chairperson of the Corruption Prevention Commission Mariam Galstyan, member of the Commission Lilit Aleksanyan and OGP Co-ordinator of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Lilia Afrikyan.
