Whistle-blowing system introduced to employees of marzpetaran of Gegharkunik Marz and local self government bodies — regional trainings have been launched

Within the scope of the nationwide awareness-raising campaign for the whistle-blowing system, the first regional training has been launched in Sevan city for representatives of local self-government bodies and marzpetarans. The participants of the training became familiar with the whistle-blowing system and the related legislative regulations. Within the scope of the nationwide campaign, educational events will be held in all the marzes of Armenia, engaging community service officers and other representatives. The trainings are being conducted in co-operation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), jointly with the Ministry of Justice and the "Armenian Lawyers' Association" NGO. Attaching importance to the role of the whistle-blowing system within the scope of the fight against corruption, aiming to strengthen intolerance toward corruption by raising public awareness and making the fight against it a part of societal values, as well as shaping among citizens the conduct of personally rejecting corruption, the Ministry of Justice has launched a one-year awareness-raising campaign for the whistle-blowing system. The aim of the awareness-raising activities is to reduce negative perceptions about whistle-blowers, raise public awareness about the vital role of whistle-blowers, as well as emphasise the role of the Unified Electronic Platform for Whistle-blowing (azdararir.am) in the fight against corruption.
