The Ministry of Justice held a working discussion with representatives of state bodies and the public sector in regard to review of the list of corruption offences laid down in Annex 1 to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and the investigative subordination for these offences.
The discussion concerned the issues that the "Armenian Lawyers’ Association" NGO has proposed for consideration during the upcoming session of the Anti-Corruption Policy Council. In particular, the corruption offences defined by the UN Convention against Corruption and fully reflected in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the evaluations provided to Armenia by the OECD during its Third and Fourth Round Evaluations, were touched upon.
After the discussion, it was proposed to review the list of corruption offences and, accordingly, the investigative subordination, based on international standards and domestic needs.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to conduct multifaceted examination and continue the working discussions to provide solutions to the issues raised.
President of the "Armenian Lawyers’ Association" Karen Zadoyan, representatives from the Judicial Department, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Anti-Corruption Committee were attending the discussion.
