Compulsory enforcement system reforms discussed within the scope of Council of Europe Project

Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balyan participated in the meeting of the Co-ordinating Council for the Support to the effective execution of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights in Armenia Project within the scope of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia 2023-2026. In his speech, Levon Balyan expressed gratitude to the Council of Europe for the fruitful co-operation with the Ministry of Justice and the support for fundamental reforms of the compulsory enforcement system within the scope of the Project. The Deputy Minister emphasised that adoption of the new Law "On enforcement proceedings" — in line with European standards — will be essential in terms of further reforms of the compulsory enforcement system and ensuring of full execution of the judgments related to the stage of execution of legal acts rendered by the European Court of Human Rights against the Republic of Armenia. Levon Balyan also mentioned that before ensuring implementation of the new Law, there is still a lot of work to do with respect to the conduct of training of compulsory enforcement officers, judges, development of guidelines for the new Law. Chief Compulsory Enforcement Officer of the Republic of Armenia Arsen Mnatsakanyan and Advisor to the Minister of Justice Elina Geghamyan also attended the meeting of the Project Coordinating Council.
