Eurojust and Armenia expanding partnership — Minister of Justice receives President of Eurojust

Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan received the delegation led by President of the European Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) Ladislav Hamran. The Minister attached importance to the partnership with the European Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation in the criminal justice sector in the areas of the fight against organised crime, terrorism, money-laundering, human trafficking and other grave crimes. The parties welcomed the ratification of the agreement with Eurojust on legal co-operation in criminal proceedings on 13 September 2024 and attached importance to the signing of draft "Work Arrangement" on 23 September 2024, ensuring implementation of the agreement. Minister Grigor Minasyan emphasised that over the past year, a solid documental framework for co-operation has been established between the law-enforcement and justice bodies of Armenia and the European Union. Issues related to the deepening of partnership in the area of personal data protection and other issues of mutual interest were touched upon during the meeting. President of the European Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) Ladislav Hamran congratulated Armenia on the 33rd anniversary of independence and attached importance to the establishment of co-operation between Eurojust and Armenia. Ladislav Hamran also emphasised the importance of appointment by Armenia of a Prosecutor for Co-operation in Eurojust and presented the ways and opportunities for partnership. The parties agreed to continue joint activities in the context of reforms in the justice sector.
