Partnership with Iran in justice sector is a priority — Grigor Minasyan receives Mehdi Sobhani

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Grigor Minasyan received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Mehdi Sobhani.

The Minister expressed his deep condolences over the tragic incident that took place at a coal mine in the Khorasan Province of Iran. Grigor Minasyan emphasised that the partnership with Iran in the justice sector is a priority, evidence of which is the high level of relations between the two countries. The Minister also congratulated his Iranian counterpart on his re-appointment. Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan expressed confidence that it will be possible to further deepen the successes achieved, based on the results of the meeting of the Joint Committee of the two countries on legal and judicial issues to be held in October in Tehran.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr Mehdi Sobhani expressed gratitude for the condolences over the tragic incident that took place at the coal mine. Mehdi Sobhani highlighted that the Armenian-Iranian relations are dynamically developing in all directions.

The parties both highly appreciated the close co-operation between the Ministries of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and of the Islamic Republic of Iran, especially in the area of transfer of convicts. During the discussion, issues on the agenda for the session of the Joint Committee of the two countries on legal and judicial issues were touched upon. The parties also discussed a number of other issues of mutual interest.
