National Archives of Armenia and India to sign Memorandum of Co-operation in digitisation sector

Director of the National Archives of Armenia of the Ministry of Justice Artur Stepanyan hosted Director General of the National Archives of India Dr Arun Singhal, Deputy Director Dr Sanjay Garg and First Secretary of the Ambassador of India to Armenia Ms Raj Bala.
The specifics of the Memorandum of Co-operation to be concluded between the Archives of both countries in the nearest future were discussed during the meeting. In particular, within the scope of co-operation, it is planned to enhance the process of digitisation and storage of archival documents, training of the staff of the Archives in line with the rules of the digital world and organising of joint exhibitions.
Director of the National Archives of India Dr Arun Singhal thoroughly presented the experience of India in terms of archives and the achievements that the country has made in the digitisation sector. Director of the National Archives of Armenia Artur Stepanyan also presented the activities of the National Archives for digitisation and the services provided by the National Archives, as well as the co-operation in other areas. An agreement was reached to continue preparatory work for conclusion of the Memorandum of Co-operation. The Indian party invited Director of the National Archives of Armenia Artur Stepanyan to India where the Memorandum is expected to be signed in 2025.
At the end of the meeting, the guests toured the storage rooms of the National Archives of Armenia, as well as the exhibition hall and the Digitisation Department.
