Minister presents regulations related to electoral legislation to Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany

Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Claudia Busch. During the meeting, both parties highly appreciated the co-operation between the Republic of Armenia and Federal Republic of Germany in the sector of mutual legal assistance. Presenting the priorities of the Ministry of Justice, a discussion was held, and it was particularly devoted to judicial-legal issues, combating corruption, and human rights protection. In this context, issues of bilateral interest in the implementation of reforms were considered. Areas within the competence of the Ministry of Justice, including localisation of the best practices of the Federal Republic of Germany in mediation and arbitration and personal data protection were touched upon. The Minister provided details on the regulations of the electoral legislation, and also, at the request of the Ambassador, the parties briefly touched upon the concept paper on the new Constitution, emphasising the importance of accuracy of the social rights of persons. The Minister stressed that it is the chaining implementation of the reforms by Armenia that will bring the country even closer to European values and standards. During the meeting, the sector-specific reforms implemented and ongoing within the scope of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, as well as the EU visa liberalisation process were also touched upon.
