Deputy Minister of Justice Tigran Dadunts received the delegation led by Rapporteur on implementation of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Constantinos Efstathiou. During the meeting, importance was attached to the implementation of judgments of the PACE European Court of Human Rights, specifically the proceedings against the Republic of Armenia currently pending in the European Court of Human Rights, as well as the statistical data on cases dismissed during 2024. The Deputy Minister reminded that Armenia has 76 proceedings, of which 5 are groups of cases under supervision through an expedited procedure. At the request of the guests, Tigran Dadunts provided details about the pending and dismissed proceedings. He mentioned that ECHR judgments are of great importance for Armenia, stressing their significance in the improvement of legislation and practice. In this sense, the Deputy Minister presented data on the work of the inter-agency committee that was established upon the decision of the Prime Minister in 2021 and co-ordinates the activities aimed at fulfilling the international obligations assumed under the European Convention on Human Rights. Assessing the work of the committee as effective, Tigran Dadunts stressed that the task of the committee is to implement the ongoing activities arising from the international obligations assumed under the European Convention on Human Rights, including the organising of implementation of the European Court judgments. The European guests inquired about issues related to the legislation and law-enforcement practice in Armenia.
