Today, the meeting of the Co-ordinating Council for the 2023-2025 Action Plan arising from the National Strategy on Human Rights Protection was held under the chairmanship of Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan. Greeting the attendees, Srbuhi Galyan emphasised that the field of human rights protection is one of the key and priority strategic directions for the Ministry of Justice. She stressed the importance of inclusiveness of the Strategy.
Addressing the representatives of the government agencies participating in the meeting, the Minister particularly emphasised the role of each government agency in the implementation of the actions. "This platform serves as a special opportunity for all of us to discuss the existing problems and predetermine the possible directions for their solutions," the Minister assured. She presented the programme-based priorities envisaged for the year 2025, which include monitoring and re-evaluation stages. The Minister assured that the National Strategy on Human Rights Protection is one of the main directions of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and that the Ministry of Justice will be consistent with achieving success in this area.
Let us mention that the Council consists of representatives of public authorities and civil society, Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and one representative from each of the seven civil society organisations. The Minister of Justice is the Chairperson of the Co-ordinating Council.
