Secretary General of Ministry of Justice Edgar Hovsepyan and Head of Penitentiary Service Tsovinar Tadevosyan tour "Sevan" and "Abovyan" Penitentiary Institutions

Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice Edgar Hovsepyan and Head of the Penitentiary Service Tsovinar Tadevosyan visited "Sevan" and "Abovyan" Penitentiary Institutions to explore, on-site, the current conditions for confinement of persons deprived of liberty, assess the volume and opportunities for the planned construction and renovation works. At "Sevan" Penitentiary Institution, Tsovinar Tadevosyan and Edgar Hovsepyan also participated in a tree-planting ceremony, followed the teaching process in the newly renovated classrooms, enquired the persons deprived of liberty about the quality of food in the commissary and discussed the most effective ways for operation of the furniture manufacturing factory. During the working visit, a tour was conducted in the premises of the administrative building of "Abovyan" Penitentiary Institution, and the fully renovated and improved premises of residential zones for persons deprived of liberty. The Head of the Service and the Secretary General also visited the rooms for long-term and short-term visits, predetermined, on-site, the prospects for construction and renovation works. During the visit, Edgar Hovsepyan and Tsovinar Tadevosyan also spoke with women deprived of liberty.
