Experts of OECD Public Integrity Indicators (PIIs) initiative visit the Republic of Armenia

Deputy Minister of Justice Gevorg Kocharyan delivered an opening speech during the meetings with the experts of the Public Integrity Indicators (PIIs) initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) held on 13-14 May, and many issues were discussed within the scope of the meetings. Gevorg Kocharyan expressed gratitude to the international colleagues for the positive assessments presented and the work done. At the same time, he reaffirmed the persistence of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to implement the anti-corruption policy and fulfil the sector-specific international commitments. The works carried out for implementation of the anti-corruption policy, including many issues related to conflict of interest, transparency of funding for political parties and transparency of lobbying activities were discussed during the two-day workshop. The meeting was attended by representatives of various government agencies, including the National Assembly, the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministries, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, the Central Electoral Commission, the Anti-Corruption Committee, as well as a number of civil society representatives and representatives of international organisations. Let us remind that in July 2024, the Republic of Armenia joined the Public Integrity Indicators initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The Initiative assessed two areas of public integrity, including “Quality of Strategic Framework” and “Accountability of Public Policy”.
