Arpine Hovhannisyan receives Director of the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative Elizabeth Andersen

   On 22 February, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan received Director of the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) Elizabeth Andersen.

   Arpine Hovhannisyan welcomed the guests and noted that co-operation between the Ministry of Justice and the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative has been effective and constructive since 2005 until now. The Minister stressed the importance of deepening co-operation between the parties and emphasised that legislative reforms are being carried out for further development of the legal sector.

 Director of the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) Elizabeth Andersen extended thanks for the reception and introduced the Action Plan that is implemented by the Association. The Action Plan provides for the organisation of a range of awareness-raising workshops in the legal sector, as well as trainings for exchange of experience for lawyers, advocates, journalists and other target groups.

   ABA ROLI has expressed readiness to co-operate also with the Law Institute SNCO of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.
