Students of the Faculty of Law of "Roma Tre" University of Italy visit the "Law Institute of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia" SNCO

Within the scope of co-operation with the European Prison Training Academies, on 5-7 September, students of the Faculty of Law of "Roma Tre" University of the Republic of Italy paid a study visit to Armenia to get acquainted with the peculiarities of the penitentiary system of the Republic of Armenia.

The three-day programme envisages the students' visit to the building of the "Law Institute of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia" SNCO located in the Karb community of Aragatsotn Marz (Province) where they will participate in the theoretical part of the lecture and visit the shooting galleries specially designed for training.

The programme also includes a visit to the "Armavir" and "Nubarashen" Penitentiary Institutions, which will provide them with the opportunity to make a comparative analysis between the old and new types of penitentiary institutions. The students will also visit the Division for Execution of Alternative Punishments where they will be introduced to the process of the latter for making a transition to probation service and share the experience of the probation service of their country.

The students having arrived from Italy will also visit the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia to discuss the scope of co-operation between the two countries and share their personal experiences. In the future, Armenian students will also pay student visits to Italian universities.
