Arpine Hovhannisyan receives OSCE/ODIHR short-term observation mission delegation

Today, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Hovhannisyan received the delegation led by Head of the short-term observation mission of the OSCE/ODIHR Ignacio Sanchez Amor having arrived in Armenia to observe parliamentary elections of 2 April.

The Minister of Justice highly appreciated the existing stable co-operation between Armenia and OSCE/ODIHR, and attached importance to the mission of the organisation to be implemented in parliamentary elections of 2 April.

Presenting the regulations provided for by the new Electoral Code adopted as a result of consensus, Arpine Hovhannisyan noted that maximum efforts had been made to have transparent elections and raise public confidence in the electoral process.

Ignacio Sanchez Amor highly appreciated the acceptance of the majority of recommendations made by OSCE/ODIHR and the Venice Commission in the new Electoral Code and assured that the mission would carry out its work under the principle of impartiality.
